The “Unquiet inner cosmos” project is part of my explorations about the relationship between the microcosm and macrocosm, using paintings, photography, fire and other media. It combines concepts like neurons, the brain, neurology events — think of a migraine aura —, brain scans of the bipolar disorder, and general biology, like cells, organisms, bacteria, DNA, anatomy, veins, blood, the birth of life and zygotes, with some of my own imaginary visuals and patterns.
I worked this project for 2 years and the final result is quite diverse — a large quantity of small paintings, Fuji Instax photographs intervened with fire and captured with macro-photography, and burned printed photographs with mixed media.
This project was part of the collective exhibition “About time and other realities” organized by Transliterado in Centro Cultural Plaza Fátima, during the Pre-Maco event at Monterrey, Mexico. 2019.
Most of the paintings are 19 x 19 and 30 x 42 cm, made with metallic acrylic paint on Stonehenge black paper. The original Fuji instax Mini 9.9 mm × 6.2 mm. The burned photo-prints are 8x10 and 11x14 inches.
